Echo cancellationBrowser AEC. Useful against the phone's own speaker, but on Android it makes Chrome capture in call mode, which drops a Bluetooth speaker from A2DP to headset quality. It cannot cancel the Bluetooth echo anyway — that arrives too late. ECHO & FEEDBACK

Noise gatePulls the signal down between phrases. This is what removes the delayed echo coming back from the Bluetooth speaker — browser echo cancellation cannot reach it, because the speaker plays it 100–250 ms too late.

GATE THRESHOLD-45 dB

Watch the dB readout on the meter. Set this just below your speaking level and above the echo: higher cuts more echo, too high clips the start of quiet words.

Voice focusLimits the signal to roughly 90 Hz – 7.5 kHz. Speech stays intelligible while the rumble and hiss that feed a feedback loop are removed.

Bluetooth audio quality on Android. If the speaker sounds narrow, muffled or mono, Android has put the phone in call mode and switched Bluetooth to the headset profile. Turning echo cancellation off keeps it on A2DP. That used to cost you most of the feedback protection; with the noise gate on, it no longer does.

They do not include the delay added by the Bluetooth speaker itself, which is usually by far the largest part and can only be reduced by changing the Bluetooth codec in Android Developer options — see Bluetooth Speaker Help on the Mic screen.
